Ggrail Class 1-4-12

A few clips from class last night. Recall with two jump lead out, to round the backside of double (set as a single for the new training) to landing side front cross to push to outer loop of jumps...what??? Big, humungous air-blowy, heat-thingy, louder than loud over our heads, at startline. Enough "wind" rippling Ggrail's coat and making me feel like I was on a movie set of an impending windstorm..think she handled that and some other environmental distractions, pretty damn well!

After several reps...I mean geesh a two jump lead out is not something we've been doing for long either, so she may have felt "abandoned" under the sound torture chamber, even if she is not sound sensitive.....think it did start to bother her, but she worked it through! Good girl :)

First sequence (didn't get on tape) was fast, open stride, novicey type running-to offset some of the tight, technical stuff, we usually do. Jump to offside weave entry, big 2 jump loop to dogwalk (running in our case...gotta get that stop-training going :) with side change to big outer loop-lead change over double, tire...back to dogwalk...Fun!!! Ggrail seemed confused to not be asked to collect constantly-good to remember to ping pong back and forth, with that type of training-so they learn to run in full stride too. She did the one pinwheel of two jumps to offside at 90 degree weave entry, like a pro...slid into the first set and hung on :) I don't remember teaching her great entries, as my 2x2's with her, were sloppy and did not really follow the "method"...but somehow, guess I did something right...or else she is just brilliant!!

She got to be demo for working on "find the middle" shaping session on the tire. Tossing reward at odd angles to set-up, return and angle variation, for approach. Need to also add my movement in, but neutral, to start as refresher. Remember Julie Daniels had a fun tire to table game for this too..have to see if I can find old training notes on that.
So tire and also recall to heel where I am not a dunce standing so far into the middle of the receiving jump (like 3rd or 4th rep)....is something we need to work on. She understands lateral recalls...sort of, so not sure why I kept feeling the need to overcompensate. So much to do, so little time...maybe it won't snow...Also, not loving her aframe last night, hitting high...hmnnn. Maybe she had too much running yesterday, before class and was tired.....not like I'm analyzing or anything :)
