What is Perfect?

  I have been spending too much time thinking, as usual. We are living in a crazy $@#% time! The Dogs surely keep me grounded and connected to getting out and about and with friends. Not life as usual, but at least life!  Planning for the next "perfect" puppy and litter, I am doing my usual over-analyzing of pretty much everything. How great, perfect on paper, or accomplished a dog may be, doesn't mean they produce that. Some produce better than they are. Breeding is always a cocktail, the mix of ability and personality can be different even within a litter.  Training and competing is one way to see exactly what you've got. More limited with Covid, but still some possible. I continue to be baffled by some who do lots of breeding, without any "data" of proving their dogs abilities, first. Not, that competing is the only barometer of a "good dog", but if they never leave home or do anything, how can you predict what they will produce? There are also ...

Loss+Hope=Future

Some days you are the bird, some days you are the branch. Some days you are both.  I lost one of my dogs quite unexpectedly this month, my heart is so sad. If you believe in spirit and the energy of spirit, my hope is always that that spirit I loved, will come back to me again. Maybe it is a device we use to comfort ourselves, after loss. Who knows. Have you ever seen God? Do you believe in him/her? Does it matter if you can prove the existence of God, or spirit, or the afterlife? Or ghosts, or reincarnation, or..... Haven't you ever met someone, and had an instant connection (or opposite), or knew you had met them before, maybe not in this lifetime...but sometime, somewhere. I rest my case. Where there is loss, there is also future as life goes on. As you get older, you suffer loss more frequently, those are the odds. We all have jobs, lives, responsibilities, plans, hope, dreams....in the midst of extreme sadness, I needed to work out new details for a long planned l...
